"My kids picked up so much here"
We visited and my kids learned way more about animals than I expected, they were asking questions the whole time and pointing things out and talking about what they saw even after we left, so it felt like a fun outing that actually stuck with them

"Easy to get around, for the most part"
I got around easily overall. Most of the signs were simple enough to follow, simple enough, but there were a few spots where they could’ve been a bit clearer.

"I felt like I got my money’s worth"
I thought the tickets were fair for everything we got to see. My kids had a great time, which made the day way easier for me, and I was happy the place was clean. We actually ended up staying longer than I planned, so I definitely felt like it was worth the price.

"Nice shady spot for a family day"
I had a good feeling about this place quickly. There were plenty of shady areas and benches, which made it so much easier being there with kids. It just felt comfortable and low-stress, and I’d definitely go again.

"Had mixed feelings about it"
Some of the exhibits were really nice and had a good feel to them, but others just felt kind of empty or not super easy to see. I don’t know, I left feeling a little underwhelmed. It wasn’t bad at all, I just expected a bit more from it

"Good overall, but a little hard to navigate"
I like that Oakland Zoo seems to genuinely care about animal conservation and local wildlife. That part really stood out to me. The info on the site is decent too, but I don’t know why, some things just felt harder to find than they should’ve been. Overall, it seems like they’re making a good effort, but the experience wasn’t amazing.

"Made Planning Our Zoo Day Easy"
Before we headed to the Oakland Zoo, I quickly checked oaklandzoo.org to make sure we knew the hours. They were easy to spot right away, which saved us from doing that last-minute scramble of wondering when to leave.
It was nice being able to pick a good time and not feel rushed once we got there. Since zoo hours can change depending on the season, having the schedule laid out clearly made the whole visit feel a lot smoother

"Way Better Than I Expected"
We really enjoyed the gondola ride. It was smooth, the views were amazing, and it felt less hectic than a lot of other touristy things we’ve done. The kids were into it the whole time, which always helps. Definitely worth going up for a bit if you’re in the area.

"Clean and Comfortable Visit"
I was really happy to see how clean the bathrooms were, and the paths were well-kept too. It made the whole visit feel easier and more comfortable. Little things like that really do make a difference, and I left feeling glad we stopped by

"Glad We Got the Membership"
We ended up getting the membership this year and it’s been worth it. It’s easy to use at the gate, the kids are always asking when we can go back, and parking and all the visit stuff has been hassle-free. It’s just a nice easy place to spend a few hours without making a whole big plan out of it. Anyway, yeah

"Nice little gift shop, just wish they had more"
It’s a cute shop with some really nice stuff, especially for gifts and little souvenirs. I did notice some of the animal toys were sold out, though, so that was a bit disappointing. Still a good place to browse and pick up this or that.

"Not really worth the hassle"
I went for an event and, to be fair, there were a few moments that seemed like they could’ve been fun. But overall, it was frustrating. The lines were really long, the staff didn’t seem to know what was going on half the time, and the place felt way too crowded. We ended up missing a lot of the things we actually came for, which was disappointing. For what it cost, I expected it to be much better. I don’t think I’d go again.

"Nice visit, but I had some questions"
The animals mostly looked well cared for, and I did like seeing staff around and reading the signs about the rescue work they do. Some of the spaces just felt a little small to me, though?? I left wondering whether every animal really has enough quiet space to get away from the crowds when they need it

"I took my kids to Oakland Zoo and…"
I took my kids to Oakland Zoo and we had such a great time. I felt comfortable and safe the whole visit, which made the day way more relaxing. The paths were clean, there were staff around if we had questions, and the animal areas felt secure without making everything feel boxed in. Parking and getting in were both simple too. Overall, it was just a smooth, enjoyable day out, and I left feeling really happy we went.

"We ended up having such a nice family…"
We ended up having such a nice family day at Oakland Zoo. I used the website beforehand to grab tickets and check the hours, and it was straightforward, which made planning with two kids way less stressful. Once we got there, my kids had plenty to see and stayed interested the whole time. The paths were easy to manage with our stroller, and it was a relief that bathrooms and food spots were simple to find. Overall, it was just an easy, fun place for a family outing.

"Parking filled up quicker than I expected"
I was in a good mood when I got there, but I was surprised by how quickly the lots filled up. Definitely worth arriving early if you want to avoid circling around for a spot

"Saw so many animals, honestly so many"
We had such a good day here. I was actually surprised by how many animals were out and easy to see, like really easy to see. Even the big cats made an appearance for a little while, which was awesome. A few animals were just napping, but you could still spot them clearly. The paths were nice too, and it never felt like we were missing out on anything. Just a really nice, really nice visit overall
